Dharana
Description
Dharana is the sixth limb of yoga in Patanjali’s Eight Limbs of yoga, meaning concentration or single-pointed focus. This class focuses on holding the mind steady on a single object or point of focus (such as the breath, a mantra, or a visual image) to train the mind in achieving stillness. By practicing Dharana, practitioners gradually learn to quiet the mind’s fluctuations (chitta vrittis) and lay the foundation for Dhyana (meditation).
